Tempo Dance Studio is a state of the art dance studio: it has sprung floors which are considered the best floors available for dancers. The floor absorbs the shock that is transferred to the knees, ankles, and hips which will enhance performance and greatly reduce the risk of injury to our dancers. Tempo Dance Studio has 2 studio spaces and  has a large lobby area with a viewing windows, and snacks. 



Ms. Jackie - Instructor/Owner

Jackie lives in Becker Minnesota with her husband and 3 children. She comes from a dancing family, her mother, sister, aunt, cousins, and many other family members are or were dancers. Jackie began dancing at the young age of 2 and has never stopped.

Jackie is a highly trained and qualified instructor with a B.A. in dance and Kinesiology from the University of Minnesota. Ms. Jackie is a former member of the University of Minnesota Gopher dance team, Super Bowl XXVIII performer, and proud owner of one of the top dance studios in the Twin Cities for 17 years. Ms. Jackie opened Tempo Dance Studio in Big Lake in 2011 and has enjoyed implementing her levels of dance and curriculum and watching her students flourish.

Jackie received the "Studio of Excellence" award by the Federation of Dance Competitions. She attends seminars around the country to keep up on the hottest choreography and teaching techniques. Jackie has studied dance under several renowned instructors such as: La Vaughn Robinson (Philadelphia), Douglas Dunn, Billy Siegenfield, Susan McGuire (New York), Deseree Robins, Wade Robson, and Dan Karaty (Los Angeles). David Voss, Maria Cheng, and Zoe Sealy (University of Minnesota).

Jackie has choreographed Regional and National award winning dance routines at such competitions as: Starpower, Starlight, Premiere 2000, StarQuest, Applause, Footloose, Hall of Fame, Showbiz, NextStar, Masquerade, and MidWest Starz, Amaze, Majestic, In10sity m Bravo, and Energy.

Recently, Jackie was named National Dance teacher of the Year 2017-18 and She has attended classes offered by Mia Michaels, Shane Sparks, Chris Judd, Brian Friedman, Dave Scott, and Lauriann Gibson. All of whom are from "So You Think You Can Dance". Her dancers also performed at Disney World.  Ms. Jackie has several dancers that have gone on and danced both at the collegiate level as well as at the professional level.

Ms. Amber -Instructor

Ms. Amber works with both of our recreational dancers and our competition dancers. She began dancing at the age of three. Ms. Amber danced competitively at local studios until she graduated from high school. Ms. Amber received her Bachelor’s Degree in Child and Family Studies with a minor in dance. Ms Amber had the privilege to dance on the Repertory Dance Theater in college while also studying many different genres of dance including tap, jazz, ballet, modern, ballroom. After graduating from college Ms. Amber set up and ran a preschool where she also ran an after school dance program for her students. Ms. Amber left her teaching position in 2012 when her and her husband welcomed their 1st daughter to their family. Ms. Amber currently resides in Elk River with her husband and 4 daughters. In 2019 Ms. Amber won an outstanding choreography award! She has also choreographed many other award winning dances at regionals and nationals through out her career.

Ms. Madison - Instructor

Ms. Madison has been a dancer all her life. She danced on the Becker High School Dance Team. She has won several awards over the years competing as a dancer herself. Ms. Madison works with both recreational and competition dancers at Tempo. She is a well rounded dancer and performer and teaches tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, ballet and hip hop! Ms. Madison currently just graduated from the University of MN Carlson Business.

Ms. Allison - Instructor Allison has danced competitively for many years. She is graduate from the University of MN with a degree in education. She danced for the University of MN and is now currently dancing for CRASH Production. Her specialty is Jazz and Lyrical/Contemporary styles of dance.

Ms. Lydia began dancing at a young age. She has competed through out her dance career and won many national and regional award. After high school she went on to study at the Joffrey Ballet School specializing in jazz and contemporary styles of dance. She brings an exciting new style to Tempo Dance.
